Die Chaser - Polisher - All 3 Shifts
Garden City & Livonia Facilities - $16 Per Hour
Hiring for All Three Shifts for the Garden City and/or Livonia Locations, with potential shift and location change based on business needs.
Die Chaser/Polishers are responsible for polishing, cleaning, inspecting, and resurfacing the cavities and bores of die castings by using hand tools and machines, help to repair and/or replace any damaged dies, preparing and set up of dies and die components for current and future use as workload demands, and maintain proper keeping-placement of all dies and die shop components for current and future use.

Extreme temperatures.
Physical ability to perform duties assigned including but not limited to:
Extensive standing/walking
Extensive bending/kneeling/squatting
Continuous lifting up to 75 pounds from floor to average waist-high platform
Duties include but are not limited to:
Inspect and Polish dies so they are ready for production
Assist in die corrections
Load, start and monitor nitrider
Deliver the dies to presses according to schedule and bring back extruded dies for caustic/storage
Responsible for maintenance of all extrusion dies to achieve maximum productivity
Polish dies after die correction is completed
Must have previous experience of die polishing and/or correction
Must possess the working ability and/or willingness to work with caustic solution
Run the dies through the caustic solution to clean excess aluminum out of the die
Assemble and break down tooling assemblies
Make sure the dies are clean and there are no remaining aluminum remnants left
Die storage- putting the dies away and retrieval- taking the dies out of storage
Ensure a safe and clean work environment
Wear safety equipment and follow safety protocol
Operating hand tool including Hammer and chisel
Clean work area end of shift
Knowledge of production operation and experience in manufacturing environment
Perform any other assignments given
Minimum Requirements:
Must have knowledge of Dies/Die Shop, but willing to train;Â training will be on days for a period of time until competent, then transfer to midnights
Must be 18years or older
Must be able to read and write in English fluently with proficiency
Must have at least a High School Diploma, GED.
Certification or Associate Degree in Manufacturing is a plus
Must have basic computer skills
Must be reliable, punctual and maintain excellent attendance
Must be able to work shift assigned and be flexible with scheduling (either afternoons or midnights) based on business needs
Must be willing to work between plant locations (Garden City and Livonia)
Must possess good attitude
Must be able to work well with others in a team environment
Must be able to follow directions and perform assignments given through completion
Possess knowledge of safety and productivity around the aluminum extrusion press is a plus
Pre-Employment Screening:
Must possess a valid Driver’s License (to travel between plants as scheduled/assigned)
Must be able to pass stringent Background Check, Drug Screening, and Medical Exam (any of these may be required)

Monday through Friday:
Day/First Shift:Â 6Â or 7Â AM to 2:30 or 3:30 PM
Afternoon/Second Shift: 2Â or 3Â PM to 10:30 or 11:30 PM
Midnight/Third Shift:Â Â 10 or 11Â PM to 6:30 or 7:30 AM
Saturdays and Sundays, As Required and Directed, Same Flexible Shift Hours.
Break: 25Â Minute Paid Break,
Employees MUST Punch-out if they leave the facility during break and will not be paid.
Drug Screen and Background Check Required:
Enhanced Nationwide, NSOPW, 10-Panel Drug Screen With THC, Motor Vehicle Report.
No Violent Crime or Sex Offender Felony Convictions allowed.
