Machine Tool Builder & Assembler Technician
Livonia - Days - $26 to $36 This is a Temp-To-Hire Long Term Job Opportunity.
Job Description, Duties, Responsibilities & Experience:

Fit and Function to Product:
PICO, Comau, Kuka, Paslin, Right-On, DCT, Motorama/NAC, Schenk USA, Modern Engineering, HyTech, Ingersol Rand, etc. would be a good Fit for this Job and Client.
We are looking for a Builder/Assembler-Working Leader that can do it all, including:
Monday through Friday with Saturdays as Required and Directed
7 AM to 3:30 for an 8 Hour Sift and to 5:30 PM for a 10-Hour Shift
Start Date: Monday, December 15, 2025 (Tentatively)
Pay Rate: $30 to $40 Per Hour, determined after a Client Site Job Interview.

Job Description, Duties, Responsibilities & Experience:
(Including, but Not limited to)
Fit and Function to Product:
- Basic understanding of Machine Function & Output
- Product basic GD&T
- Adjust tooling via shim packs, hard stops, etc.
- Machine Repeatability and Testing.
- Value Poke/Poka-Yoke or Human Machine Interface or "HMI" Navigation
- Convey any issues to the Supervisor/Designer noted during set -up
- Set-up parameters on Welders for Mig, Tig & Stick Welding
- Prep material properly (Grind, Clean, Temp & Chamfer) for various types of Welding, Thickness & Material
- Create Jigs to create dimensional weldments for machine capability
- Able to read print/details and run through all processes within JBA or John Barry & Associates (Industrial Engineering/Consulting)
- Take material and create detail required per print
- Understand High Tolerances
- Mill
- Lathe/Hard Turn
- Surface Grind
- Able to take the supplied tech sheets and fit any tooling hardware needed (IE: Rail alignments/ bushings to bore/grind spacers, etc)
- Able to recognize the need for these operations after reviewing the assembly drawings and BOMS needed
- Able to take pre-assembled units and interact with them to achieve a proper full assembly
- Understand how one relates to the other to achieve mobility and clearance to themselves and function of machine to product
- By taking customer product and set up items to fully note completeness to achieve an internal buy-off and hand off to controls (product fit/cylinder strokes/switch set up/grind spacers/clearance rub, etc)
- Able to arrive in the field to converse with customers to diagnose and perform resolve of issue/ problem
- Able to understand the issue to be warranty or non-warranty and be able to appropriately convey to customer and PM filling out field service form appropriately
- The issue is to be handled (minus any possible PLC problem) solely within the employees' environment
- (ie: machine details if needed/replace switches/valves, etc.)
- Layout the Base, Assemble and Mount Tooling & Fixtures and Guarding
- Locate and Mount Switches, Valves, Cylinders, Lube Blocks and other devices
- Start-up and De-bug Assistance
- Troubleshooting Assistance
- Lock-out/Tag-out
PICO, Comau, Kuka, Paslin, Right-On, DCT, Motorama/NAC, Schenk USA, Modern Engineering, HyTech, Ingersol Rand, etc. would be a good Fit for this Job and Client.
We are looking for a Builder/Assembler-Working Leader that can do it all, including:
- Supervise the Group/Team
- Build and Assemble from Prints
- Assist with Start-up and De-bug/Qualifying the M/System
- Tear it down and Ship it
- Travel to the End-user to Monitor and Assist Re-Assembly (1-2 Weeks)
- Assist with Start-up and De-bug/Qualifying the M/System at End-user Site
