Sheet Metal Estimator - Days - $32 to $40 Per Hour / $93K Per Year Sheet Metal Estimator Job Summary:
In search of an Estimator who will be responsible for preparing estimates for Prototype, Short and Long Run Production Sheet Metal Fabrication, Stamping and Laser Cutting of Parts and Assemblies per client Requests For Quote.
The Estimator analyzes prints, models, customer requirements, job
specifications and related data to prepare time, cost and labor estimates for quoting customer products.
Estimator is responsible for continually cultivating and enhancing customer relationships by providing exceptional service and communication to ensure the ability to deliver quality, competitively priced parts, in a timely manner that
results in future opportunities and strengthened relationships.
Requirements:Â
At least 6 plus years’ experience of hands-on experience in a Built to Print Sheet Metal Fabricating and Machining shop environment.
At least 6 plus years’ experience, estimating and managing projects in a sheet metal fabricating and machining shop environment.
Familiar with IATF Quality systems
Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, technical specifications, chemical process specifications and production orders.
Knowledge of tooling design, materials and parts in the metal fabrication process and a good understanding of GD&T
Ability to determine manufacturing work scope, tools and equipment requirements.
Strong math background (geometry/trig); capable of performing calculations in percentages, ratios, run speeds, conversions, and prices
Possess good organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
Team player with the ability to work together to complete objectives
Good leadership skills and assist in implementing productivity changes.
Working knowledge of MS Suite including:Â Outlook, Word & Excel
Working knowledge of CAD Software such as SurfCAM is a plus (for tooling design of prototypes)
Customer Relations and Sales experience is a big plus
Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes blueprints and other documentation to prepare equipment time, cost, materials and labor estimates for metal fabrication parts & assemblies.
Work with team to analyze engineering drawings, sketches and samples to determine manufacturability of requested parts.
Calculate run speeds, material usage, press size and any other needed information to provide cost estimates and lead time.
Solicit quotations for raw material, special plating processes, heat treat, deburr, etc., component hardware, and any special lab requirements that are required on the RFQ.
Identify essential work centers and apply their sequence of application to the job routing plan. Input all calculated data into the enterprise planning software accurately and double check calculations for accuracy before sending quotes.
Assesses cost effectiveness of equipment and processes, tracking actual costs relative to bids.
Consults with clients, vendors or personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Prepares estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
Follow job from estimate to invoicing, while communicating clearly and effectively with client
Prepares and maintains a directory of clients
Updates documents such as Quote Logs and Job Traveler Forms to ensure available data is up to date.
Attends weekly Sales meetings and follows direction from management to insure incoming sales goals are being met
Follows all company policies, procedures and safety rules. Conduct self at all times in a professional, ethical and courteous manner.

Job Type:Â Full-time
Pay Range: $32 to $40 Per Hour / $93K Per Year, determined by Client, following successful site Interview.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday: 7 AM to 3:30 PM for 8-Hour Schedule,    (7 AM to 5:30 PM for 10-Hour Schedule)
Saturday: 7 AM to Noon to 3:30 PM, as Required and Directed
Sunday: (Rarely and only as Required and Directed)
This is a Direct Hire Position
Education:Â High School Diploma or Equivalent
