Structural Steel Welder - 2nd Shift - Livonia - $20.50 to $22.80 Per Hour
Shift Premium at: $2.30 Per Hour Worked

***  This is a 90-Day Temp-To-Hire Opportunity!  ***

Reports To: Shop Superintendent, Leadman

Role: The Welder’s primary role is to operate equipment as needed to complete welding assignments on time and in budget.
The Welder reports directly to the Shop Superintendent, Leadman.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate saws, shears, cranes and other shop equipment as needed.

2. Assist Fitter in fabrication process.

3. Proficient with the use of burning equipment.

4. Proficient at the identification and application of welds.

5. Follows all company policies and procedures for safety.

6. Maintain shop floor organization and cleanliness.

7. Any other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements {Skills, Knowledge, & Experience}

Skills Required:

• Equipment operation, welding, and burning.

Experience:

• 2- 5 years structural and miscellaneous fabrication welding.

Education:
• AWS D1.1 Certification

   regularly required to speak and hear, stand, and sit for long
   periods. Vision abilities required include: close vision, distance
   vision, color vision, depth perception.

  Use of hands and arms for reaching, feeling, handling.

• Site visits may involve loud noise and exposure to fumes, airborne
  particles, and vibration.
Job/Placement Details: 
Shift: First/Days to Start; but MUST be willing to move to the Second Shift once acclimated and doing well, possibly as soon as hired.

Schedule:
First Shift: Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Second Shift: 3:30 PM to 12 AM (8 Hours) to 2 AM if 10 Hours.
The Second Shift Always Starts at 3:30 PM.
 
Overtime Policy: Paid over 40-Hours Worked in a week, Sunday through Saturday, at Time and a Half.
Overtime Schedule: 5 AM to 3:30 PM, as required and Directed

Wage: $20.50 Per Hour for First Shift & $22.80 for Second Shift   A Pre-Placement Job Site Interview is required. 
A Demonstration of Skill Welding Test may also be required.
